This is a personal website. That means that the opinions, stories, fantasies, rants, shopping lists, and all other content you find here were written by me, George Wiman, and have nothing to do with the official blah-blah anything of any institution anywhere. I am a person with male caucasianism, of baby boomer vintage working in the Information Technology sector, living in a MidWest city of 100,000 souls. My hobbies include blogging, woodworking, photography, and cycling. Politically I hold some very conservative - and some very liberal positions so you'll have to read some articles and figure out what label you care to use. It would probably be a good thing if everyone just dropped the labels and talked about issues, but hey, what do I know? What kind of egotistical moron has a personal website? I like to share my hobbies with other people who enjoy them. I like to yap about political, religious, technological and sociological trends and events. And I have an itch to write, in hopes of improving my writing skills and maybe someday make a living putting verb and noun together, ideally on a laptop in some charming little coffee shop somewhere. The kind of egotistical moron I am NOT is one who expects you to care what I think about anything. In the unlikely event someone is forcing you to read these pages, you have my sympathy, but in no other case. If you're offended by something I say, feel free to email me with contrary opinions. If someone can give me a good argument, I change my mind occasionally. (It starts to smell bad if I don't at least launder it once in a while - phew!) But emailing your contrary opinion isn't risk-free. Your message becomes my editorial property and I might skewer it in these pages, even satirically. I'm usually fair, but not always.
